Yesterday kicked off the start of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, running from September 12th through the 18th. This week provides the trucking industry an opportunity to recognize its efforts over the past 18 months. When everyone stayed home at the start of the pandemic, truck drivers were the ones that kept their foot on the gas… or should I say, diesel and kept the economy running. When the pandemic caused the shipping industry to bottleneck, the truck drivers stayed the course to ensure everyone else had their food, fuel, medicine, and eventually vaccines to continue with their normal day-to-day lives. Truck drivers stayed resilient through the driver shortages, Colonial Pipeline crisis, Evergreen Suez Canal debacle, and more.
This week, here’s what the major truck stops are doing to thank the drivers for their hard work. Pilot is rewarding professional drivers with free drinks, free showers all month with the purchase of one 50+ gallons of commercial diesel fill, and bonus loyalty points all month long. Love’s is celebrating National Truck Driver Appreciation week with deals on fresh food, snacks, and drinks, free food with an oil change for Loves rewards members. Travel Centers of America are holding special events for drivers, including complimentary cookouts, health and wellness checks, entertainment, window washing, mid-trip inspections, and tire inspections, and more.
Thank you to all the truck drivers for your sacrifices over the past 18 months. We appreciate you and everything you do. Enjoy your week and keep on trucking along.
